Muchan 2020 To Be Held on the Moon

star-of-david-1

New York City, NY – Chosen People Ministries announced this week that the next Muchan Conference for International Messianics between ages 18 and 35 will be held on the Moon. Muchan, which is Hebrew for “ready,” will have its 2016 conference in Prague, while the previous incarnations were held in Berlin, Paris, and Madrid, respectively.

“We wanted to switch things up a bit,” said a young Chosen People Missionary who asked to only be referred to as ‘RK.’ “There are so many Messianic conferences happening throughout the year, we knew holding ours in Europe would be something different. But we’re running out of European cities that people don’t normally associate with being Jewish, so we had to figure out an even more unique place to hold the 2020 conference. The Moon is really the only option left and it’s perfect! It’s never been done before. Not even Jonathan Bernis has done anything with the Moon before. We’re going to be pioneers!”

RK said he wasn’t sure exactly how transportation was going to work for the 2020 Muchan Moon, but said he is certain it’s going to happen. For more information about Muchan please visit muchanconference.com

MLR 2017 Will Be An African Safari in Kenya

Phoenix, AZ – Jonathan Bernis, President and CEO of Jewish Voice Ministries International, announced this week that the Messianic Leadership Roundtable (MLR) will be held in the African nation of Kenya in 2017 and will partly take place during an African Safari. The annual conference brings together Rabbis and other leaders from all organizations of the Messianic movement and, other than the upcoming Conference Conference and AMF 2.0, is the only true non partisan Messianic conference.

“The 2017 MLR will be the 10th annual conference and we want to do something special to commemorate the milestone,” Bernis stated in a recent YouTube video. “The MLR is normally in Phoenix, where Jewish Voice is headquartered, but we did hold the conference on a cruise last year and it was a big hit. So I had to think, how can I top that for our big 10th anniversary leadership extravaganza? And then it hit me…an African safari! It’s perfect. What better way to learn how to lead a congregation than by gazing at God’s great glory that is wildlife in its natural habitat? And anybody that would like to stay in Africa a little bit longer can bring their name tag from the conference into my new theme park, Yeshualand, for half price admission and a free refillable giraffe shaped soda cup!”

The MLR seeks to promote unity and fellowship among leaders called to Jewish ministry and is open to any leader of a Messianic congregation, para-congregational ministry, or pastor of a church that provides a Jewish ministry within the church. For more information about the MLR please visit www.jewishvoice.org/mlr/

UPDATE: We’ve just received word from AMF 2.0 that they are not actually a conference and, therefore, cannot be referred to as a non partisan Messianic conference.

Special Congregational Worship Night Turns Into Two Straight Hours of the Song “Good Good Father”

Unknown

Brooklyn, NY – A special congregational worship night at Beth Tikvah Messianic Congregation turned into an endless loop of “Good Good Father” after The Spirit moved the worship leaders around and around in a circle until they couldn’t spin anymore. Unsuspecting attending congregants kept waiting for the song to change and it never did.

“We’ve had this worship night planned for quite a while,” said worship leader, Sarah Levy. “Honestly, I had never even heard the song ‘Good Good Father’ before, and then my friend, Danielle Tokajer, told me her husband, Rabbi David Tokajer, sings the song in the shower every single day and that inspired me to listen to it. The song was just so magical. I got caught up in it and just couldn’t stop playing it. This song is really a blessing to everyone that hears it. I also know Joshua Aaron is working on a Hebrew translation and we can’t wait to be able to start using “Tov Tov Abba” as a tool to worship The Lord in addition to the English version.”

Levy says they plan on having these special worship nights periodically, especially with the release of her upcoming album “Good Good Album” which is due out sometime this fall. For samples of Sarah’s music and to tell her to stop singing this bloody awful overdone song, please visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

New Non Partisan Messianic Conference for Those Who Like Attending Messianic Conferences to Take Place This Summer

RosenPlaza

Orlando, FL – A new Messianic conference will take place this summer for those who like attending Messianic Conferences. The aptly named “Conference Conference” will be an annual event the week prior to Messiah Conference.

“Messianic Judaism doesn’t have enough conferences, especially in the Orlando area,” stated Conference Conference Founder and Organizer, Stephanie Escalante. “This conference will be different than all the others, however. The workshops offered here will strictly be about how to choose the activities you participate in at the conferences you attend. We will go over the differences between all the Messianic conferences offered, how to choose which Rabbi you want to hear speak, how to choose between Davidic Dancing and Krav Maga, which kind of shofar or tambourine to bring to the evening sessions, how to choose a conference crush (CC) if you’re single, and we’ll even have a panel on how to choose your entree for the conference Shabbat meals. We’ll also be giving everyone a punch card…if you attend 10 other Messianic conferences between the 2017 Conference Conference and the 2018 Conference Conference, you will get half price admission for the 2018 Conference Conference! It can be any 10 Messianic conferences, including, but not limited to Messiah Conference, The UMJC International Conference, Daughters of Righteousness Conference, Meuchad Worship Conference, any YMJA Retreat, The ARCH Leadership Summit, Any MJAA Regional Conference, Muchan, any Jews for Jesus Ingathering, MLR, and even AMF 2.0!”

Conference Conference will take place June 22-25, 2017 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando. Early bird registration starts at just $89 per person. Please call (605) 475-6968 to register.

UPDATE: We have just received word from AMF 2.0 that they are not actually a conference. Unfortunately, the Conference Conference punch cards will not be valid for said event afterall.

AMF Announces Second Coming

AMF

Asheville, NC – What was meant to be a one time only Messianic Jewish Music and Arts Festival, AMF or Asheville Music Festival, has dropped a huge yarn bomb on everyone and finally announced there will be a second edition after all. The four day non partisan festival took place in Asheville, North Carolina in August 2012 and saw more than 1,000 members of the Messianic community from all over the world, including representation from every major Messianic organization in the movement.

“Our original vision for AMF was to hold a one time music and arts festival that would bring together MJAA, UMJC, and JFJ alike for a common interest,” says a planner for AMF who chose to remain anonymous. “We didn’t think we needed to have it more than once because the goal was for everyone to want to continue hanging out with each other after AMF ended, regardless of their organizational affiliation, and that’s essentially what happened. While there isn’t a NEED for this to be an annual or even bi-annual event, the demand is high, so we’ve decided to listen to the people and put this amazing festival on once again. Give the people what they want! Besides, there are so many great new Messianic Artists that have come up since then that didn’t get to perform at the first AMF, like MIQEDEM and How To Fly. We would love to showcase those artists at the next AMF.”

“The theme of the first AMF was ‘Noah’s Ark,’ but that was a little too wet for everyone, so we’ve decided that the next one will officially be called ‘AMF 2.0: 40 Years in the Desert.’ We’re currently looking for a new location with a drier climate than Asheville,” says another AMF planner who also chose to remain anonymous.

AMF 2.0 will happen sometime in the future, but of that day and hour no one knows, not even the biggest supporters, but only the organizers.

YMJA Extends Age Limit to 45

YMJA

Skokie, IL – It was decided this week that The Young Messianic Jewish Alliance would be extending its age limit from 30 to 45. The decision came after a record number of aged-out Millennials and Gen X-ers tried to sneak onto the bus to the water park during the YMJA field trip from Messiah Conference this past July.

“We already have an unprecedented amount of 30 and 40 somethings hanging around The YMJA,” stated YMJA Treasurer, Ravi Goldberg. “They don’t care that they’ve aged out and they just won’t leave. We’ve tried everything; spraying them with water bottles, serving restraining orders, and even locking them all in a closet. Nothing is working. At least if we officially change the age limit to 45 they will be forced to pay the membership fee and those YMJA T-shirts they’ve been stealing all these years will be rightfully theirs. Plus, then we’ll be able to use the extra money to buy more potato chips for everyone!”

Executive Director, Rabbi Kevin Solomon, added, “Starting in 2017 The YMJA will service ages 13-45 and the YMJA part of Messiah Conference will have the following tracks: ‘Teen,’ ‘Young Adult,’ and ‘You’re really too old to be here, but we didn’t have a choice.’”

More information about the YMJA and their upcoming conferences can be found at ymja.org
